A Case of Hyperthyroidism associated with Choriocarcinoma

Abstract
|
|
|
This is a presentation of 37 year old woman with manifestation of hyperthroidism associated with metastatic choriocarcinoma from uterine choriocarcinoma to the lung.
A remission of both tha neoplastic disease and the hypertyroidism was achieved by oncolytic chemotherapy (MTX +act inomycin) and total hysterectomy.
The gonadotronion exceretion and miliary nodular densities . in the lung disappeared at the same time during the therapy.
In the end, the thyroid function´s abnormality was entirely restored and returned to euthyroid state.
The results from clinical course and the responses to chemotherapy suggested that the thyroid abnormalities of the patient were secondary from the largec quantities of trophoblastic thyrotropin, which recently was proved to be humen chorionic gonadotropin.
